Re-organisation effecting the Registry of Companies

On Monday, 30th April 2018, the Registry of Companies (Establishment as an Agency) Order, 2018 was enacted. As a result of this legislative instrument, the Registry of Companies shall no longer form part of the Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) but will become an autonomous agency. The agency shall be vested with the duties and functions pertaining to the Registrar of Companies under the applicable laws. The new agency shall now assum responsibility for the assets and liabilities which were previously vested and entered into by the MFSA.
